本中心胡念祖主任於2012年11月受教廷經正式外交管道邀請出席由教廷主辦之第 23 屆「海洋使徒世界大會」（the 23rd World Congress of the Apostleship of the Sea, 19-23 November 2012），以 「一堵玻璃牆：東南亞海員福祉之發展」（A Glass Wall: Seafarers' Welfare Development in Southeast Asia）為題發表專題講演，並獲贈教宗本篤十六世第 668 號銀質獎章。

2012年11月20日胡念祖主任於梵諦岡Synod廳向數百位參與教廷所主辦的第23屆「海洋使徒世界大會」之人士以「一堵玻璃牆：東南亞海員福祉之發展」為題發表專題演講。

On 20 November 2012, Director Nien-Tsu Alfred Hu delivered his speech entitled “A Glass Wall: Seafarers’ Welfare Development in Southeast Asia” at the Synod Hall in the Vatican City to an audience of several hundreds attending the 23rd “World Congress of the Apostleship of the Sea” sponsored and organized by the Holy See.
